As a Native Oregonian, Deanna has had professional instruction of various styles along with choreography and teaching experience for a total of 9 years. Over the past few years, she fell in love with choreography and providing a more personalized lesson, focusing on Freestyle/Choreographed Jazz Funk, Country/Hip-Hop Line Dancing, and West Coast Swing.
Deanna experienced significant health complications as a teenager and spends most of her time balancing her health needs. Dancing has had a tremendous, positive impact on her health. She loves to spread that joy to all people, regardless of their own limitations.
Riding her motorcycle is her favorite alternative pastime to dancing, along with other outdoor activities when the weather is good. She loves to spend time with her mother, frequently helping her as an American Sign Language interpreter.
SPECIAL THANKS to Terri Nichols, Deanna’s deaf mother, for assisting in interpreting the music to ensure it matches the flow of her performance. Also to Katy Ipock, for inspiring and helping Deanna get back in to her passion for dancing many years ago, along with cutting the music file used in her performance. And a very special thank you to Anthony Parker-Hoang, for his unending support, feedback, and assistance in Deanna’s creation process.
