Samantha O’Connor moved to Central Oregon 14 years ago and is a proud graduate of Summit High School, where she first learned about Sparrow Clubs and the empowering work they do in the community. Samantha helped organize the Mr. Thunder Pageant in her Junior and Senior years at Summit, working closely with the school’s Sparrow and participants to raise money.
She has worked in the news industry in Central Oregon for the last 6 years and continues to be inspired by Sparrow Clubs and all the other amazing organizations we have in this community. Currently, she anchors the 3, 5, and 6pm broadcasts at Central Oregon Daily where she takes pride in making viewers feel engaged, informed, and excited about where we live.
Andres ‘Andy’ Garcia is the founder and director of ‘Latin Dance Bend Entertainment’ and ‘Legacy Dance Academy – Bend’.
Andres was exposed to tropical Latin music and dance at age eleven, but his first real spark of love for Latin music and dance was ignited on a trip to New York City in the year 2000 while experiencing the live salsa music and dance scene.
Since 2010, he has received instruction from some of the top Latin dance instructors in the industry while attending various Latin dance festivals and congresses and he strives to continue learning in order to provide quality dance instruction to others.
Andres is grateful and feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share his passion and love for Latin dance and music by teaching, choreographing, performing and DJ’ing at local and regional events.
Andres has two amazing kids, daughter Jadzi and son Kao. He is married to the most amazing woman and his best friend, Jamie. They also have another family member, their boy Solo, the chocolate lab.
